- After a tooth extraction. the socket fills up with blood which clots in a few minutes. If she disturbs the wound, it may start bleeding again. If this happens, she should put a thick wad of cotton on the wound and bite it firmly.
- Normally there is no pain but only a dull ache which can be treated with a pain killer.
- She should not eat till the anaesthetic wears off and then eat only soft food. She should avoid anything hot. She can take cool drinks and ice cream.
- She should not rinse the mouth for 24 hours after extraction.
My mother just had her tooth extracted. What care should she take?
